Trena Olfert has several years in the industry educating and empowering women about how to bring out their BEST from makeup to skin care. She specializes in freelance professional makeup application for weddings, fashion runways, fashion editorials, commercial, grad and private consults.

Trena has strong relationships in both the Fashion and Wedding Industry. As a proud member of Calgary Bridal Association she is very grateful for and continues to work with select few well-known professional wedding planners and photographers in the industry. She is continuing as Runway Lead Makeup Artist for both Wedding Fair and Bridal Expo. She not only exudes talent and skills but her winning personality and business mentality brings more than just her brushes to any wedding, private consult, photo shoot or event. Trena’s talent has been featured in several local and international print and online magazines. Trena served as Creative Beauty Director for 1 year with FASHIONSIGN Magazine in 2011/2012. In 2009/2010 Trena was responsible for launching two Saskatchewan based Wedding Magazines (Fine Weddings Regina).

Trena is and has been a Motivational & Inspirational Speaker for Spa Industry Association of Canada, LCN Canada Conference, Olds College Fashion Institute and Every Woman Festival. She was honoured with Best Makeup Artist Calgary 2012 through the Wedding Industry Experts; nominated and awarded Top 3 for Best Makeup Artist Calgary 2013; nominated for Alberta Women’s Entrepreneurs Award; and nominated for Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40.

Trena has partnered with Esthetic Institute as their Instructor for the Makeup Artistry class and the new class, Advanced Makeup Artistry, that Trena has developed. Trena also developed and facilitates the new professional & personal business seminar, Brand Yourself, for students. Trena hosts workshops to educate small business owners with mindset and to find that purpose in life through her new venture with husband, Aaron, called Brand Your Lifestyle. She continues to host makeup workshops for clients and destination wedding brides. Founder of Dress for Success Calgary, a non-profit that provides support, styling and clothing to women getting back into the workforce is also a dream come true to continue to serve the Calgary Community.

Trena’s vision and goal is to share her enthusiasm on empowering women through education, speaking, hosting passionate driven workshops and through launching her first book in 2013/2014.

I am happy to be calling central Alberta home, I love big city lights and wide open spaces. I believe that where there is strength there is beauty and that true beauty is ageless. I also believe the right approach to makeup can be the key to both unlocking and expressing one’s uniqueness and inner beauty.

My formal training as a makeup artist began at Evelyn Charles Academy in Calgary, where I was given the opportunity to study under Trena’s expert guidance, and now have the privilege to work under her. A few of the highlights over the last year have been working along side some of Calgary’s best photographers, models, hairstylists, fellow makeup artists and more in events such as the Calgary Wedding Week Runway 2012, the Calgary Bridal Expo 2012, as well as the Calgary Bridal Fair 2013. Also, I have had the privilege of helping new brides along side their closest, bring out their best on their big day. I am excited to continue my career as a makeup artist in the ever changing and ever evolving world of fashion and beauty, and all it has to offer. Tamara Lynn is a freelance makeup artist, owner of Makeup By TamaraLynn, based in Red Deer AB. She specializes in beauty, grad, bridal makeup and fashion runways for the past year. She achieved her certificate and study from Eveline Charles Academy Makeup Artistry Course taught by Trena and now under her wing as a junior MUA. Tamara is constantly striving to learn, grow and expand her knowledge in the beauty industry using her ability to recognize and carry out each clients individual need with a guaranteed personalized application every time. She has worked on numerous weddings, grads and fashion shows - including Calgary 2012 fall wedding expo and the Calgary 2013 spring wedding fair.
